En una entrada anterior de este blog les hablé sobre el hermoso museo Franz Mayer.
En estos días se puede ver una exposición llamada»El Rebozo: Made in Mexico«.
El rebozo es una prenda de vestir femenina clásica en México. Muy característica y utilizada en todo el país y usada en todos los estratos sociales. Es una penda que nos identifica como país como el tequila y el sombrero de charro. Ha sido retratada por lo más importantes artistas del país en todo tipo de obras.
Es una pieza rectangular desde 1.5 metros hasta 3 metros de largo. Pueden estar fabricados en algodón, lana, seda o artisela.
Las mujeres usan el rebozo como chal, bufanda o para cargar a sus hijos y en algunos lugares para llevar sus productos al mercado.
El rebozo es omnipresente y lo ve uno en todos lados. Hay rebozos baratos y sencillos y muy finos y carísimos.
Si vas a una tienda de rebozos encuentras maravillas. En varios viajes he adquirido algunos para mi mamá y hermanas.
Esta exposición es muy interesante y habla de la historia de la prenda, de sus modos de fabricación y su importancia.

These days you can see an exhibition called «The Rebozo: Made in Mexico«.
The rebozo (shawl) is a classic female garment in Mexico. Very characteristic and used throughout the country and used in all social strata. It is a garment that identifies us as a country like the tequila and sombrero. It has been portrayed by the most important artists of the country in all kinds of works.
It is a rectangular piece from 1.5 to 3 meters long. It can be made of cotton, wool, silk or rayon.
Women wear it as a shawl, scarf or for carrying their children and in some places to get their products to the market.
