En mis muchas visitas al centro de la ciudad, había pasado frente a la casa colonial que alberga el Centro Cultural de España, justo detrás de la Catedral Metropolitana, pero nunca había entrado. Tenía ganas de conocerlo. Así que un buen día decidimos visitarlo.
Está ubicado en una casona del siglo XVII, que cedió el gobierno mexicano en 2002 al gobierno español para su rehabilitación y tiene un segundo cuerpo que fue construido con posterioridad.
Tiene actividades como cine, música, talleres, conferencias, exposiciones en áreas como humanidades, artes, ciencia y tecnología. Medianera, auditorio y sala de lectura. Todas gratuitas.
Por si fuera poco, en el sótano tiene un sitio arqueológico con restos de la ciudad azteca.
En la parte alta hay una terraza y un restaurante-cafetería. Hice el video haciendo un recorrido por todas las instalaciones (menos el sótano) del centro.
Es un lugar al que tienes que volver porque siempre hay algo interesante que ver y hacer. Visiten.

In my many visits to Mexico city downtown, I had passed in front of the colonial building that houses the Cultural Center of Spain, just behind the Cathedral, but had never entered. I wanted to know the place for some time. So one day we decided to visit.
Housed in a building from the XVII century, which the Mexican government donated in 2002 to the Spanish government for rehabilitation it has besides a second body that was built later.
It has activities such as film, music, workshops, conferences, exhibitions in areas like humanities, arts, science and technology. A Media center, auditorium and a reading room. All for free.
To make matters even better, in the basement there’s an archaeological site with remains of the ancient Aztec city.
At the roof there is a terrace and a restaurant-bar. I made the video doing a tour of the center facilities (except the basement).
It is a place you have to go back because there is always something interesting to see and do. Visit!
