En la zona boscosa de La Marquesa (Increíblemente en el DF) se encuentra el parque nacional Desierto de Los Leones. En medio del bosque se encuentra el precioso ex-convento Carmelita del año 1606. Ni es desierto ni hay leones. Se les llamaba “desiertos” a los lugares apartados y de recogimiento y se dice que de los “Leones”, por la familia que lo construyó. Es un lugar hernoso y apacible y vale mucho la pena visitar.

In the woods of La Marquesa (incredibly IN Mexico City) is located the National Park Desierto de los Leones (Desert of the Lions). There is the beautiful carmelite ex-convent built in the year 1606. It is not a desert nor there are any lions. In those times the places for solitude and meditation were called “deserts” and “Lion” seems to be the name of the family who built the convent. A beautiful and peaceful place is very worth the visit.
